It’s becoming more and more clear to me every day that I’m in the process of deciding what I do with my time. I’m just now realizing the freedom I have and it’s very exciting!!
My kids have both graduated from high school, the house they grew up in was recently downsized and sold, we moved from a suburban community of 22 years to more of a city atmosphere, and I transitioned out of a small retail storefront business I had for 18 years! All that!
Over the past few months of transition, I’ve felt lost many times!! What to do with all the time I spent managing a business that was open 7 days a week! At the very same time I’ve also been overwhelmed with the amount of time it took to wrap up a business of 18 years!! So many big and little details to close things out in the best way possible. And did I mention also feeling totally exhausted and overcome by emotion at times!! I believe all of this is normal for such a big transition.
No house and all that was required when we had the house! Anyone with a house can understand this!! I’ll be happy never to mow a lawn or shovel a driveway again!! 🙂
No kids around on a regular basis hasn’t been a big change since my kids were very independent and self sufficient. I’m all for teaching kids to cook for themselves, do their own laundry, clean up after themselves, and think for themselves as early as possible.
So, struggling at times to structure my time in order to accomplish the necessary tasks in front of me each day, while giving myself the time I needed to take a breathe before my next life journey!
I still feel lost sometimes, and I think that’s normal, but I’m beginning to see more clearly what my next life journey is… My passion has become not only inspiring myself to better self care, but inspiring everyone in my path!
Are you currently at the beginning, in the middle, or at the end of a life transition of some kind? I’d encourage you, as I have myself, to simply do your best in each situation. Take the time you need. Don’t rush! And Breathe… 🙂
